Michigan State had a fantastic 2010 season under head coach Mark Dantonio, and that occurred despite the fact that Dantonio missed some of the season after suffering a heart attack after a big win over Notre Dame! After all that they went to Iowa and get trounced by the Hawkeyes, before winning another three games straight.

They met Alabama in the Citrus Bowl and were ranked as the number 7 team in the country, but were blown out 49-7. The two blowout losses were bad, but the 11-2 season was great, and that's what Spartans players and fans will be thinking about heading into 2011.

They will have their chance to win plenty of tough, big games as well. From the middle of September until the beginning of November, their schedule is loaded, as they play Notre Dame, Ohio State and Nebraska on the road, while inviting Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota over to East Lansing.
