Seating Info

  • Grandstand seats are shaded, but some views are obstructed by posts.
  • Bleachers and seats down the 1st base line get a lot of sun.
  • Right field box seats have poor site lines (they point towards the outfield).
  • Seats down the 3rd base line get a LOT of line-drive foul balls (heads up!).
  • The rowdiest fans are in the bleachers. The most polite fans (yawn) are between the dugouts.
  • Local vendors sell great food outside the park along Van Ness Street and Yawkey Way.
  • Access is restricted in some sections. It used to be that the bleachers were completely separate from the rest of the ballpark, but that has changed. However, the Green Monster, pavilion and roof sections are not accessible by grandstand and bleacher ticket holders.
  • Tickets for the handicapped are available (at least 72 hours in advance).
  • No discounted tickets are sold on the day of the game.
  • Most expensive tickets in baseball.

Parking

A rare commodity in a city as dense as Boston, parking can be found in several private lots in the vicinity of Fenway Park. The process of parking may seem chaotic to people accustomed to attending games at more modern stadiums which are ringed by acres of stadium-owned parking lots. Prices can range from $10-$30 to park for a game. Buyer beware.

Traffic

Boston's traffic can be brutal. It is an old city in which most of the streets were laid out before the invention of the train, never mind the automobile. Interstate highways were cut through the city in the 1950s and 1960s, but drivers should pay close attention to where they are going. It's easy to get lost.
